Testing, testing and more testing

As Web-D-Zine( WDZ ) approaches the market place the last phase of testing is happening. Realistically testing has been happening every day, that coding happens because WDZ is a boot strap development project. (WDZ was used to write WDZ). So today, I realised that I had a field called Infomation rather than Information, so I updated the table definition for the table and generated the base class, for the umpteenth time. This meant that I just needed to look for the few instances that I had accessed the field directly outside of the class and I was done. I still have a new feature that I want to incorporate into the base class, so all the base classes will need to be generated again, but I can at last see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Now I am hoping that because WDZ is a boot strap development project that all the testing that is needed is done. However, according to Edsger W. Dijkstra "Program testing can be used to show the presence of bugs, but never to show their absence!", so once final internal testing is done, WDZ will be released to a few interested parties and external testing can begin.

It just so happens that when I was taking this picture of the tunnel, there was two views, one that went up after the tunnel and one that went down. The picture that went down was not in focus, so it looks like it will still be an upward journey, after I get to the end of the tunnel.
