Limiting TV time

Limiting TV time

Last month I went on holiday for a week. It was great to get away, to see my sister and daughter, to go to different places and enjoy myself, away from work and other commitments. The other thing that happened was I did not watch TV. I went to the theatre, listened to music while sitting on a beach and chatted to my daughter and my sister. It was good to have no TV for a week, so now that I am back, I am limiting my TV time. It is only been a week, since my return, but I am already benefiting from the lack of TV:-

  • More time to do stuff - The list of jobs to do is huge and it is only getting bigger, but now I have time to do them
  • No longer in a trance - I tend to watch mindless TV, rather than engaging TV such as documentaries, this means that I go into a trace and find it difficult to snap out of it
  • I feel like I am moving forward - I have started the diet and the first week of records for my diet are in the book. The little pink book is full and I have written two articles for publication outside of the blogs

In addition to my own developments, things are progressing outside of my little bubble. One of my customers is applying for a grant, so I need to complete Web-D-Zine for when the grant comes in. Also Beverley's mum has at last agreed to having her bathroom refitted and a home help. She needs these and although it will mean more work in the immediate future, I feel that we are progressing to where we want her to be. As independent as possible, in her own home.
