Reflection on 2024

December is upon us and I always feel that this is a good time to reflect on things and to create goals for the future.

2024 has been a difficult year for me, and that is all due to the fact that I have felt rudderless with no plan, no drive and just a constant reminder that every week is the same as last week, with work, looking after others and little time for anything else. However, things started to change in August and have improved since. I am still not out of the wood yet, but improvements have been made.

These improvements have been made because I'm being selfish:-

  • Health - Now one would think that being selfish is a bad thing for others, but I have found that the opposite is true. So my first selfish act, is to think about my health. So I have moved doctors and a host of small niggles are being sorted out. This means that I feel healthier, so I now have the strength to look after others for longer.
  • Exercise - I am now walking, and I am going for a 1 to 2 hour walk three times a week. As well as helping to improve my health, my mental health has improved immensely. Helping myself has really helped me to take on the burdens from others and feel defended from their moans and groans, that can get you down
  • Time - By only working four days and looking after relatives for two days, I'm allowing myself one day to do what I want to do. For the most part this is washing and housework, but I'm also achieving other goals like projects on Salty Lass. This has meant that projects are moving from the to do list to the done list and that is really making me feel good about myself
  • Passion - This is the area that I am currently working on, as I can see that my passion for Web-D-Zine has gone out. I still want to complete Web-D-Zine, but my drive is lacking. However, my zest for life has improved and by naming my issue, I have taken the first step to sparking my flame. Thinking about it, I have also bought books to clarify my thoughts and help me work through my issues. So I will take the time in this blog to say, you are doing alright and you can do it.
